  1. Short:    MapROM tool for Blizzard turbos. V1.8.

  9. BlizKick is used to rekick any Kickstart ROM image with blizzard turbo
  10. boards having MAPROM feature (jumper). It has been tested with Blizzard
  11. 1230-III, 1230-IV and 1260 boards. Kickstart 1.2, 1.3, 2.05, 3.0 and 3.1
  12. are currently tested ROM images. Kickstart 1.2 (33.128) doesn't work for
  13. some reason. I'll fix this soon... :)

  15.  BlizKick main features include:

  17. *NEW*
  18. - XPK support for KICKFILE.
  19.  
  20. - Support for hackdisk.device!
  21. - Can be run any time (no more need to start before SetPatch on 1260)
  22. - EXTRESBUF feature: Can use memory outside ROM image for "modules". No
  23.   more "iffucient ROM space" -problem!
  24. - Can replace PrepareEmul tool 100%
  25. - FORCE works now more rationaly...
  26. - Has two new "modules" included
  27. - Has possibility to plant ResidentTag modules into ROM image!
  28.   (9 example modules included, plus assembly source code for all of them!)
  29. - Can restore the original Kickstart.
  30. - Has built-in FastWaitBlit patch.
  31. - Uses Blizzard board's own MAPROM feature (jumper).
  32. - No kickstart file preparation or similar is needed. You can just save any
  33.   ROM image and give it to BlizKick!
  34. - Can make memory on Blizzard board LOCAL, bypass flashy boot of the board
  35.   and speed up ROM boot.
  36. - Doesn't use MMU, KickMem, KickTag, ColdCapture or CoolCapture vectors.
  37.   -> 100% transparent!
  38. - BlizKick is as OS compatible as possible: Doesn't use any additional
  39.   memory (except those 512K and memory used by EXTRESBUF, if specified),
  40.   coolcapture, coldcapture, kickmem or kicktag vectors.
  41. - Works with KS 1.0+ There's really no use for this, except for restoring
  42.   original Kickstart after using Kickstart 1.x. Well, maybe some freaks
  43.   like to boot KS 3.x from disk... ;-)
  44. - Tested with Blizzard 1230-III @ 50MHz, Blizzard 1230-IV @ 50 MHz and
  45.   Blizzard 1260 @ 50MHz turbo boards.
